IWP-2 is one of the original Inhibitors of Wnt production compounds that targets Porcupine (Porcn), an acyltransferase catalyzing the palmitoylation lipidation of Wnt proteins [1]. IWP2 specifically inhibits Porcn acyltransferase activity and consequently blocks Wnt protein secretion and does not block general protein secretion of cellular responses mediated by the Hh and Notch proteins [2].
